Snacks to Pack in Your Child’s Lunch

Packing your child’s lunch is a great way to make sure they are getting the nutrients they need while they are at school. And, by adding extra snacks to the lunch, you can make sure they have all the energy they need to do their best learning. Some snacks are better than others, so you want to make sure you choose snacks that help your child to be their best self while they are at school.

Cheese

If your kids are like most people, they probably love cheese. And since cheese is a great snack that is full of protein and calcium, it can be an incredible addition to your child’s lunch. You can pack string cheese, pre-packaged cheese squares, or cut cubes of cheese yourself to put in their lunch. When you pack cheese, you are helping to ensure that your child has access to a healthy snack that they will love. Make sure that you choose cheeses that your child enjoys, and if you want a little variety for your kid, you can pack the cheese with dried fruit, nuts, and crackers.

Apples

Adding a little fruit to your child’s lunch is another great option that can give them an extra boost of energy throughout the day. Many kids prefer to eat their apples when they have been sliced, so taking the time to cut up the apples can make it easier for them to snack on. Keeping the peel on apple slices will help your kids get more fiber. Adding some cheese or peanut butter to eat with the apples can give them an extra boost of protein, which will help them feel full and complete the snack.

Carrot Sticks

It can sometimes be hard to get your kids to eat vegetables, but carrots tend to be a popular choice among most children. You can cut the carrots into sticks to make them easier to eat and more appealing. Adding a small container of ranch dressing can also help to make the carrots more appealing to your child. A few olives or cut-up cucumbers can spice things up and give your child a little more variety in their packed snack.

When you take the time to pack your child a lunch, you show them that you care. And the extra snacks you put in help them to have a fun and productive day while they are at school. Throw in a nice note and you can help your child to have an amazing day.
